Mist and fog always add a little intrigue and drama. When we can't see clearly our imagination kicks in. Seeing an animal emerge from the mist or dust is so exciting. One of my favorite things to paint is a misty or dusty scene. When I do a misty scene I will paint the animal in brown and grey tones. Once this is done, I will let the paint dry for a couple of days. Then I will paint over it again using thick colorful paint to really enhance and exaggerate the lighting. It is kind of like turning up the contrast on your photos.
